BOTTOM UP AFRICA
Sat, Jul 25, 2015

Anne-Marie Flammersfeld is the fastest desert runner in the world and one of the best Ultra-Marathon-Runner.

In 2012 she won all the four Extreme-Races-Series “Racing the Planet 4 Deserts” setting new time record in each race and of course overall. One of her new challenges is “Bottom Up Climbs”. At the moment she is in Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

The idea of “Bottom Up Climbs” is to climb the highest volcanic summit of each continent from the lowest point of the country where the summit is found. The “Bottom Up Climbs Africa” just started in Tanzania. From the 16th to 19th July Anne-Marie Flammersfeld will ride with the bike through the country. After that she’ll climb Mount Kilimanjaro by foot. And on the 25th of July she’ll climb it again. „I’ll try to do the Kilimanjaro in a speed style”, says Anne-Marie Flammersfeld about her ambitious plans. She has to climb 4200 altimeters and about 20 kilometeres. “I try to be as fast as I can.”

At her trip UVU-Panther Flammersfeld will also visit the social project “Stiftung Paulchen Esperenza”. Therefore she has collected a couple of laptops and sneakers.
